Abstract: This article explores the intersection between dataism, inequality, and democracy in contemporary society. Dataism, a worldview centered on the primacy of data and its use to optimize decision-making, presents significant challenges to social justice and democratic functioning. The concentration of data power in the hands of large corporations and governments may exacerbate social inequality, while opaque algorithms threaten the transparency and integrity of democratic institutions. To mitigate these risks, the article proposes implementing data governance policies that promote transparency, equitable access to data, and digital literacy for citizens.
