INTIMATE VISIT AT THE FEMALE PRISON UNIT OF PALMAS/TO

Abstract

This study  is going to analyze whether, how, and under what conditions intimate visits are carried out in the Women's Prison Unit in Palmas / TO, from the perspective of the incarcerated women themselves. The phenomenological method used proved to be the most adequate to proposed objectives. The fieldwork, consisting of partial immersion in the prison environment, had the voluntary participation of 24 women, promoted by a non-directive interview using the triggering question: what do you have to say about the intimate visit, your experiences, experiences and feelings? The results indicated that sexist, legal and bureaucratic barriers in the exercise of this right weaken marital ties, generating an odious sense of injustice due to gender discrimination, with emotional, behavioral and disciplinary reflexes, thereby stimulating the sexual and circunstancial relationship  between inmates. The lack of adequate environments for the couple's intimacy generates the feeling of mechanization of the sexual act, devoid of the love, affection and affection, necessary to maintain the marriage relationship. Of all, it was found that, despite the considerable increase in the female prison population in recent years, women remain relegated to anonymity when talking about the implementation of public penitentiary policies, perpetuating a sexist system engendered for the male universe.
